This is a great activity to do prior to a workshop or before the first day of classes, as it can be done easily and independently freeing up class time for discussion.

STEP 1: First, make a copy of the presentation and save to your own Google Drive.
STEP 2: On the next slide (slide 3), go through the two stacks of value cards on the left side of the board. (The cards should move once you click on them). For each value, decide whether or not this is a value you share based on your own understanding of the term. For values that are important to you, put them on the board. For values that aren’t important, place them to the right of the board. Feel free to use the blank cards to add values that are important to you.
STEP 3: After going through the stacks, click on “Slide” on the top menu bar and select “duplicate slide.”
STEP 4: On slide 4, review the values on the board and select only 5 that are the most important to you. These values should remain on the board. The others can be moved to the left of the board. Label this board “MY CORE VALUES”
NOTE: more detailed directions are in the speaker notes at the bottom of the page. If you are unable to see the value cards, try zooming out.
